FAQ

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

CAPABILITIES & INTRO

What does FEEDHAMMER actually do?

We take the messy, raw iCal feeds from your Basecamp projects and clean, format, and unify them into a single, high-performance stream. Instead of subscribing to 15 different calendars, you subscribe to one.

Think of us as the data janitor that makes your calendar actually usable.

Does it change my Basecamp data?

NO. We are a read-only "middleman". The communication is strictly one-way:

BASECAMP → FEEDHAMMER → YOUR CALENDAR

Changing an event in Google Calendar won't affect Basecamp. Everything stays safe and pristine at the source.

Why should I use this?

Three killer reasons:

  • Client Sharing: Group specific project feeds together to give your client a single schedule link without exposing your entire company calendar.
  • Sanity: Toggle one calendar on/off instead of managing a dozen separate subscriptions.
  • Filtering: Don't want "Todos" clogging your schedule? Turn them off. We offer granular filtering for Meetings, Todos, and Cards.

PRIVACY & SECURITY

How is my data handled?

We prioritize security by minimizing what we store. We plan to implement local SQLite caching for generated feeds to speed up performance, but we do not build a permanent database of your personal event history.

We're a passthrough service, not a data warehouse.

Are my links safe?

YES. Your Basecamp iCal URLs are encrypted at rest in our database. We treat them like passwords—locked down tight.

Since we act as a passthrough, your sensitive project details are never exposed publicly. Your data stays yours.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

Free vs. Pro?

FREE TIER

Perfect for testing or small needs. Combine up to 3 feeds. Links are temporary—they expire after 48 hours or 5 pulls from your calendar app.

PRO TIER

For power users. Unlimited feeds, permanent links that never expire, advanced filtering options, and priority support. Built for professionals managing multiple projects.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Google Calendar isn't updating!

Google Calendar refreshes external feeds on its own schedule—sometimes taking hours. This is a Google limitation, not ours.

Quick fix: Try unsubscribing and re-adding the feed to force an immediate refresh.

My feed link isn't working

Double-check that you copied the entire URL from Basecamp. It should end in .ics

If you're on the Free Tier, your link may have expired—generate a new one or upgrade to Pro for permanent links.
